Pure Copper Speaker Cable | Oxygen-free and 10AWG | Any length from 1-100m
The Pure Copper Speaker Cable is a high-quality electrical conductor designed specifically to carry audio signals from an amplifier to a speaker with minimal loss or distortion. Pure copper speaker cable is also referred to as OFC (oxygen-free copper).
Why choose OFC over copper-clad aluminum (CCA)?
- Conductivity:
- Oxygen-free copper: very high (100% IACS)
- Copper clad aluminum: lower (~60-70% IACS)
- Durability:
- Oxygen-free copper: high and very flexible
- Copper-clad aluminum: low and prone to snapping
- Oxidation:
- Oxygen-free copper: highly resistant
- Copper-clad aluminum: high (prone to “dusting”)
Product features
- High conductivity: copper is one of the most conductive non-precious metals. Pure copper ensures that the maximum amount of power reaches the speaker, maintaining the integrity of the audio signal.
- Low resistance: due to copper having a low electrical resistance, it generates less heat and experiences less signal drop over long distances.
- Durability and flexibility: pure copper is more ductile than aluminum. It can be bent and routed through tight spaces or conduit without becoming brittle or snapping the internal strands.
- Corrosion resistance: while all copper can eventually “green” (oxidize) if exposed to air, OFC is significantly more resistant to internal corrosion, ensuring the cable lasts for decades.
