Keystone Blank Insert | HTECH
A Keystone Blank Insert (also known as a blank jack or keystone hole cover) is a modular snap-in component designed to fill unused ports in a standard keystone wall plate, patch panel, or surface mount box.
Product purpose
- Aesthetics: they provide a clean, finished look to wall plates by hiding the open holes and exposed internal wiring.
- Protection: by sealing the port, they prevent dust, debris, and insects from entering the wall cavity or the back of a patch panel.
- Future-proofing: they allow for easy expansion. If you need to add a new connection later (like an Ethernet or HDMI port), you simply pop out the blank and snap in the required keystone jack.
Specifications
- Material: flame-retardant plastic
- Compatibility: fits any standard keystone opening
- Dimensions: 15mm x 16mm
- Installation: toolless snap-in design; can be removed from the rear

Steps for getting the right amount of inserts for your project:
- Determine the empty slots of the wall plate. For example, you want two 6-slot 120×120 wall plates. The total number of empty slots is 12.
- Determine the actual number of inserts you need. Subtract the total empty slots from the amount of inserts you actually need. The value gotten will be for the blank inserts [click here]. For example, you require four RJ45 inserts, 12 – 4 = 8. That means you will buy 8 blank inserts for the slots you will not be using.
