The DC-DC Step Down Converter is a versatile, high-efficiency DC-DC buck converter module designed to take a higher input voltage and “step it down” to a lower, regulated output voltage. It is widely used in DIY electronics, battery charging, and LED driving due to its high current capability and relatively small footprint.

Things to consider before buying the converter

• Buck conversion only: this is a step-down converter. The input voltage must be at least 1.5V higher than the desired output voltage to maintain the voltage regulation.
• Heat Dissipation: While rated for 5A, the module generates significant heat at high power levels. If drawing a higher power, consider using an Aluminum heatsink for long term use.
• Adjustment: the potentiometers are multi-turn (usually 25 turns). You may need to turn the screw counter-clockwise several times before you see the output voltage begin to drop.
