DC Power Included: to ensure smart operation during loadshedding, this unit now includes a DC connection (power is via your gate or garage door battery). The included DC to Micro-USB converter has a wide input range (8-35VDC) and is suitable for connection to both 12V or 24VDC systems. In most cases the converter input can be connect to the DC power terminal blocks on your gate or garage door motor PCB – see additional images.
AC Power Excluded: any 230VAC power adaptor to 5V 1A via Micro-USB will be suitable – same as used on previous generation cellphones. To Buy [click here]
Ease of Installation: (refer to additional images for more information)
The Smart Opener basically ‘piggybacks’ to the exact same connections as your existing wireless remote or wired wall buttons available on your control board.
- Connect the provided cable connector to ‘Motor’. RED connects to ‘TRG’ (Trigger or similar) on the control board for both Gates & Garage Doors. These are the same as the remote or wired buttons. BLACK to COM/ GND.
- Connect the wired sensor and the magnetic sensor pickup (opposite each other, max 15mm apart). Indicates on the Mobile App if the Gate/Door is open or closed + audible Chime.
- Gate: connects inside to your Gate motor enclosure / pickup on the gate itself.
- Garage Door: connects to wall just above the garage door / pickup on the garage door (screws/stickers/bracket included).
- Power the Smart Opener: The smart opener requires 5VCD via a microUSB connector. A 230VAC adaptor with USB to microUSB is included. Connecting 230VAC requires a qualified electrician. See above optional 12 & 24V DC power converters
- Pair the unit and control the device on your smart phone Tuya Smart Life, Voice Control, Google Home, Alexa, Automate based on your position.
- Special Smart Configuration: configure the gate and/or garage door to automatically open/ close when you are for example 300m away from home.

The product itself works well enough, but the integration with Homekit via the Plugin on HOOBS / HA is not as polished. The frequent incomplete status polling really drains your battery and instead of assuring you, leaves you wondering if the doors are really closed or not. The service from HenracTech staff was top drawer, though.

Hi Caleb, in effect it is a ‘gate/ door position’ sensor and not a switch meaning it indicates or senses if the gate/door is open or closed. The unit simply ‘piggy-backs’ the same connections as your remote. Devices that actually switch (voltage) such as our 10A, 20A & 30A switches etc. show as a switch. Regards HenracTech Support
